Hi and welcome to evie.org. Guess what my name is. (This is a trick question.)

I’m an amateur photographer, foodie, mother, engineer, nerd, traveller, and a space chimpanzee. One of those things is not true. (Guess which?)

My gallery here features some of my photography, things I eat, things I love, things I do. My blog is 80% Food, 50% Olivia, 30% Dogs, 35% Gardening, and 10% Travels. (Percentages are not 100% accurate.)

I work at The Nerdery as a Solutions Engineer. I help potential clients figure out the scope of their interactive development project and provide cost and timeline estimations. I also manage our team of 14 Solutions Engineers – resourcing, exceptions, recruiting, all that fun stuff. #ilovemyjob.

What’s the best part of working here?

The doggie coworkers, that and I forget to go home because I’m always fed and caffeinated.  Wait… is that a good thing or a bad thing?

What are you a complete nerd about?

Food and Photography.  I “maintain” a food blog with the latest and greatest things I’m cooking in my kitchen.  “Maintain” because I’m bad at updating, but I’m good at eating it.  I love macro photography and food photography and sometimes I step outside the kitchen and photograph other things too.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?

Try everything twice.

Who’s your favorite fictional nerd?

Neville Longbottom because he’s nerdy and he can do magic.

What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?

3 michelin-star chef.  Aim high or go home.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually, or emotionally?

Fashion and pretty things. (ohh shiney)

What word/noise do you hate?

“Vegetarian Bacon”

What did you catch onto (early adopt) before your friends?

gmail, IRC (yes people still IRC dammit), eBay, and World of Warcraft (MMOs in general).

What’s the longest you’ve gone sitting at a computer without getting up?

Please, I’ve played everquest in a raiding guild.

What is your earliest computing or internet memory?

Earliest computing would be playing number munchers on an apple IIe in grade school and pwned the rest of my class.  Earliest “internet” memory was calling a BBS and playing L.O.R.D.  A few years later came the “real internets”, I got a floppy with trumpet winsock on it for Windows 3.1 from the U of M, and I’ve been idling on IRC ever since.

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpowers be?

The ability to absorb other super powers… yeah it’s cheap but I don’t like to be cornered into just ONE ability.

What’s been your proudest achievement at the Nerdery?

Having the most dangerous photo shoot to date, however only 5 people were harmed.
